Wellspring Women’s Center Social Media & Website Support Intern

Wellspring Women’s Center was founded in 1987 by two sisters of Social Service with the mission to “nurture the innate goodness and personal self-esteem of women and their children and to do so within an atmosphere of hospitality with dignity and love.” Wellspring serves as a drop-in center to women and their children, Monday-Friday, and provides a nutritious breakfast, women’s wellness services, safety net services, and children’s programming. Wellspring started from humble beginnings and has grown to become a trusted neighborhood gathering place that reduces isolation and loneliness. Wellspring Women’s Center is has been in operation for 30 years and has built a trusted community of volunteers, supporters, guests, community partners, and hopefully you!

We are looking for a Social Media Intern who can also provide some website support, blogging updates, and intermittent desktop publishing assistance. This is an unpaid volunteer position with a 4 hour/week commitment (or could be more if a school program requires it for credit, etc.)

Responsibilities of this Awesome Intern Include:

  • Manage social media accounts on Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and occasional posts to Facebook
  • Create social media post calendar with directory of planned posts, unique reposts, and individualized curated content
  • Assist in strategizing multi-level outreach campaigns for specific Wellspring events, fundraising, and volunteer/community outreach
  • Stay on top of current hashtags and trends with comfortability to outreach to potential donors, volunteers, and community partners
  • Administration help as needed in the areas of e-blasts, website updates and social media marketing and reporting
  • Manage Google AdWords account and post ads when needed for special events, fundraising, pull information on Google analytics, etc.
  • Assist with posting and outreach for Big Day of Giving (a strategic initiative to expand charitable giving in our community and to strengthen our local nonprofit sector)

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Background in marketing, graphic design, web development, and/or communications
  • College student or recent graduate
  • Strong collaborator, creative, independent, driven, curious, gregarious, and gracious
  • High level of skill and comfortability in written and oral communication
  • Computer proficiency: Word, Excel, web and social media platforms including Hootsuite and WordPress (or the like)
  • Available to start immediately

Additional Requirements:

  • Relevant major/experience a plus
  • Mobile computer/laptop/tablet a plus
  • Awesome attitude, non-negotiable


  • Letter of recommendation from Executive Director and Development Director, per completing internship
  • First-hand experience with a long-standing non-profit and multiple local nonprofit partners
  • Potential networking opportunities with multiple nonprofits
