Holidays at the Center

If you haven’t visited Wellspring, the holiday season is a great time to check it out. Our Christmas tree will be decorated and lit with seasonal touches, our table centerpieces will be complements to the tree, and we hope to treat our guests to the sharing of holiday music, sharing of ethnic holiday traditions, caroling, storytellers, and maybe even a visit from Santa! If you or your group would like to get involved with helping at Wellspring this season, if you have a gift you’d like to share – singing, baking (we could always use more baked goods), or if you have the gift of time to share, we would appreciate your volunteerism.

If you’d like to schedule a visit for yourself or for your group, please call us at 916-454-9688 or email us at wellspringwomen@comcast.net

Christmas Store Program

Each year, guests of Wellspring Women’s Center are able to ‘shop' at our store and select gifts for themselves and their children during our Christmas Store Program. The gifts are donated by individuals, schools, businesses and community groups whose kind participation makes the holidays brighter for our guests. With the help of our donors and the many volunteers who make this program happen, we are able to spread true joy during the Christmas season, which can bring an enormous amount of stress and pressure to our guests.

The store is hosted offsite at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church Annex, located at 4020 12th Avenue in Oak Park. We ask that you check out our current flyer (click here) for information about drop-off dates, suggested gift items, and more information.

By hosting the store offsite, we are able to keep normal operating hours at Wellspring for our guests. Being open during the cold, rainy, and dark days of December, during which many of our guests experience increased stress, is very important in maintaining our focus on the provision of “hospitality with dignity and love”.

Volunteers are also sought for the Christmas Store. This is a great way to get involved in our community, and to share in the season of giving … highly recommended for anyone who would like to experience a truly moving (and busy!) volunteer experience. Groups are welcome. Morning and afternoon shifts are available. Interested? Call Yolanda at (916) 454-9688 x 205.
