Wellspring Women’s Center is always in need of new volunteers. Anyone interested should contact Sister Jane McKirchy, Wellspring Volunteer Coordinator (click here to email her), about details on any of the following volunteer opportunities.

Program Volunteers assist the staff Monday through Friday in operating the Center – a commitment of one morning a week, normally from 7:30 am to 11:30 am is requested. Other schedules can be accommodated. Volunteers are needed for:

• Children’s Play Area – supervision
  and creative play
• Kitchen – dishwashing or preparation
  of food
• Breakfast Counter – serving food
• Receiving Desk – answering phone,
  back door and receiving donations
• Visiting with guests

or corporate volunteer groups can provide assistance at Wellspring special events such as the Holiday Store, Mother’s Day Brunch or Guest Cultural Celebrations.

Special Event Fundraising Committees provide leadership and organizational planning for Wellspring fundraising events such as the Golf Tournament or Dinner & Auction Event. Fundraising committees normally meet in the evenings.

Holiday Store Program Volunteers

It takes many hands and hearts to make our Holiday Store Program a success.
There are several ways to get involved.
Volunteers are needed for:
     -accepting donations
     -setting up, sorting, and stocking the store
     -shopping with guests

2008 Holiday Store Dates and Volunteer Roles

Volunteers are sought for ½ day time blocks. We ask that you arrive at the site about 15 minutes before your shift begins. The morning shift runs from 9 until 12:30. The afternoon shift runs from 12:30 until 4 p.m. Lunch is provided, along with plenty of additional treats to keep your spirits and your energies up!

• Friday, December 12 (9 a.m.– 3 p.m.) Accepting Donations at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church annex, 4020 12th Avenue in Oak Park.
• Mon-Thurs, December 15, 16, 17, 18 (9 a.m.– 3 p.m.) Accepting Donations at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church annex
• Mon-Fri, December 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19th: (8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.) Assisting Guests with Shopping
