Fare Talk Toolkit

Fare Talk Toolkit

Simple steps to big impact

Call, write and email the RT board members.  Find their contact information on the Regional Transit website.

Attend public meetings!  It’s your right to speak, whether it’s on topic or not.  Go to the board calendar for scheduling as well as the agenda and other documents.  Even if you don’t think the agenda looks interesting or important, it could be the meeting you’ve been waiting for!  On May 11th, the board bumped fares from the agenda at the last minute.  Now they’ve put slashing discounts for community college students in the dreary center of an unremarkable agenda where even the well informed are unlikely to notice.  They could bring it back in the moment there’s no one there to force the conversation!  Presence of body, strength of mind and connection of community are the ingredients to equity.

Download and print some of our campaign material and pass it on!  Send them digitally through email or social media.  Keep the message strong!  All pic3documents are in word, so as time goes on you can always change the dates on generic flyers for board meetings.  It’s what we do!
